Summer Day Camps Begin May 30 and 31

May 16, 2017

From the 2013 Art of Nonviolence Exhibition

The Familia y Mundo Summer Day Camp starts Wednesday, May 31, at Ranchos Elementary School for children ages 6 to 10 years old.

The Yermos y Montaños Day Camp starts Tuesday, May 30, at NVW’s offices  on Gusdorf Road for youth ages 11 to 14.

The camps will run through August 4.  We expect full enrollment—28 children for younger camp and 14 youth for the older camp.

Donations can help us provide more high quality materials for art, more field trips, better sports equipment, and gas for our vans.

About the Summer Day Camps
NVW’s Summer Day Camps provide an enriching summer experience for Taos youth, and they are therapeutic for those who need individual and group counseling.

Everyone can participate in arts and crafts, swimming and other outdoor activities, and special community visits. All youth can take wilderness hikes, practice martial arts at Defendu Academy, volunteer at Not Forgotten Outreach doing gardening and farming, and engage in mindfulness practice.

The summer camp experience helps Taos youth build life skills and take advantage of the rich opportunities in our community.

Here is how you can donate to the Summer Day Camps.
