Nonviolence awareness starts at home.
So that’s where we start, with nonviolence awareness programs for Taos County adults and families.
We attempt to fulfill our mission to “inspire, train, and empower all people to lead lives of nonviolence.”
The adults who participate in Taos Behavioral Health programs are, in many cases, parents of youth enrolled in TBH youth programs.
Current Programs and Services
Current TBH programs for adults include:
Adults, Children & Family Counseling. This program offers therapy for adults, children and families. Counseling is also extended to incarcerated adults. More
Couples Counseling . Early intervention is key resolving relationship problems. Our couples counselors provide a neutral space to work through the tough issues with compassion and support. More
Nonviolence Awareness Classes (NAC). Nonviolence awareness classes are conducted weekly for court-referred offenders or those seeking support during divorce, conflict, or custody struggles. NAC classes promote an ongoing critical view of how violence affects relationships and values by addressing and reducing anger and conflict. Aimed primarily at perpetrators of domestic violence, we deal with anger management and other issues. Our goal is to provide communication and relational tools to promote nonviolent transformation as parents and partners. More
Supervised Visitation. This program is for parents who have restricted visiting rights to their children. Supervised visitations allow noncustodial parents access to their children in a safe, clinically supervised environment. Benefits, however, accrue to the children and custodial parents as well. More.
Restorative Parenting. The goal of Restorative Parenting is to rebuild and strengthen the relationship between parent and child in the aftermath of trauma or violence. Our goal is to create a new role-modeling process. More
