Taos Behavioral Health offers Restorative Parenting Classes for parents who have lost custody of their children.
Restorative Parenting Classes
Restorative Parenting classes help rebuild and strengthen the relationship between parent and child in the aftermath of trauma or violence.
The objectives of restorative parenting are to:
-
- Identify the broken trust between parent and child and build awareness of the effects of trauma, loss, and transition on children.
- Create a new role modeling process based on nonviolence and teach the parents new skills to help them maintain a healthy connection with the child.
