Mission Statement:
The Family Center strives to provide comprehensive mental healthcare for children, teens, and their families. Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities including but not limited too: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, wilderness therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Not only do Family Center clinicians provide in-school counseling and milieu therapy at schools such as Enos Garcia Elementary, Taos Academy, and Taos High School, they also offer traditional in-office therapy where they focus on creating a safe space for facilitating client growth. Clinicians also offer their services during seasonal therapeutic programs alongside Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) providers who aim to address clients’ needs as they pertain to the five functional domains. When not engaged in programming, CSWs spend a substantial amount of time shadowing students in the school setting and may also meet with them in the community when appropriate. Collectively, the goal of The Family Center staff is to help clients heal, grow, and empower themselves.
